'Knock Out Breast Cancer!'

Welcome to the home of Bellingham’s first Breast Cancer Brawl!

What is Breast Cancer Brawl?
The Breast Cancer Brawl is an effort to raise money for breast cancer research, advocacy, education, and support organizations. The event is a fantasy table-top miniatures tournament and painting competition using the popular WARMACHINE and HORDES game systems.

Entry fees to the event are donated to the breast cancer organization being sponsored. In addition, a unique tournament format is used to encourage additional donations throughout the tournament so that friendly competition can benefit a good cause. Privateer Press, the creators of the WARMACHINE and HORDES game systems and miniature lines, provides prize support for the event including special prizes for the tournament winner and the most generous donor.

The Breast Cancer Brawl is global in scope with charity tournaments happening around the world annually from September to December. With enough events, we all hope to do our part to help “knock out breast cancer”.

The Tournament

BCB will be a 35 point SR2010 event. Cost to play is $5 which will get the player 12 tickets (see below).

The Tourney will be held at the Eagles Eyrie, 221 W Holly St, Bellingham, WA 98226

There is limited Seating for this Event, so please reserve your place by RSPVing on Facebook or Emailing me!

Players So Far: 11/16

The Tickets, The Raffle

Tickets are $.50 each, or 12 for $5
Each player has the ability to buy tickets at any time they wish. Timers for turns will be stopped while the player is buying tickets. Tickets can be used to reroll any dice roll, yours or your opponents. So be a cheater while giving generously! Anyone wearing pink on the day of the tourney will be granted 5 extra tickets!

In addition, tickets can be use for special abilities:

The Self-Exam
4 Tickets
A player using this special rule must do so at any time during his turn. The player’s warlock/warcaster may add +1 to his/her DEF for each point of fury or focus currently on him/her. May not be used in conjunction with any other of these special rules on the same model and may not be used on two consecutive turns.

Awareness is Everything
Variable
Before the start of the game, players may spend tickets to gain a bonus to the roll to determine first player. Each token spent provides +1 to the roll and each player may spend as many tickets as he or she wishes for this roll.

See your doctor
10 tickets
Once per game, you may spend 10 tickets at the end of your turn to send an opponent’s non- warlock/warcaster model/unit to the doctor for a checkup. The affected unit does not activate during your opponent’s next turn. However, all continuous effects and enemy upkeep spells on the affected model/unit are removed.

Women are tough
8 tickets
At the beginning of the game, you may spend 8 tickets to make all female models (they must be visibly and recognizably sculpted female or named as such in the background fluff) in your army tough.

Race for the Cure
8 Tickets
All models/units in the warcaster/lock’s control area can charge at SDP +5 inches without having to spend focus, be forced or given orders. All charging models can charge through rough terrain. May only be used once per game.

Awareness and Prevention
Variable
At any time that your opponent attempts to use any of the above listed abilities, you may immediately spend the same number of tickets to negate that ability. For abilities that are usable a limited number of times per game, they are not counted as used if countered with this ability. Your opponent is free to immediately spend more to try to use the ability again, and you are free to negate again....

Paint it Pink

This is the panting contest for BCB, the rules are quite simple. Each person may submit one model to the contest. It can be from any game system. It must be painted with a pink theme, that is to say that a good potion of the model must incorporate pink; just painting the gums of a monster pink doesn’t count.  Entries will be voted on by everyone attending BCB.

Support

We are currently talking with the Bellingham Breast Center, and hope that they will become the organization we support for this event!
